Overview
ABO1009-DP is an investigational mRNA vaccine developed specifically to target the Omicron BA.1 sub-lineage (B.1.1.529) of SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19[2][3][4]. It encodes the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein from this variant, aiming to induce both humoral and cellular immune responses against Omicron[2]. The vaccine is administered intramuscularly and has been evaluated as a booster in adults who have previously completed a primary COVID-19 vaccination series[5]. Early clinical studies indicate that ABO1009-DP demonstrates good safety and tolerability as a booster dose, with ongoing trials assessing its immunogenicity and efficacy against evolving Omicron sub-lineages[2][5]. The developer is Suzhou Abogen Biosciences, which has also developed other mRNA vaccines for COVID-19.
