Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABO1020 is a monovalent COVID-19 mRNA vaccine developed to protect against symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection, specifically targeting Omicron subvariants such as BA.5 and XBB.1.5. It uses messenger RNA technology to encode the spike protein of the virus, prompting an immune response that generates neutralizing antibodies against these variants[1][3]. In phase 3 clinical trials, ABO1020 demonstrated a vaccine efficacy of 66.18% in preventing symptomatic COVID-19 among adults and was well tolerated with mostly mild-to-moderate side effects such as fever, injection site pain, and headache[1]. The vaccine elicits potent neutralizing antibody responses after one or two doses[1][4].
