ABO1105 is a lyophilized (freeze-dried) messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine candidate developed by Suzhou Abogen Biosciences for the prevention of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection. Utilizing a proprietary lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery system, ABO1105 is specifically engineered as a lyophilized formulation to overcome the cold-chain logistics challenges typically associated with liquid mRNA vaccines, potentially allowing for improved stability at higher temperatures. The vaccine works by delivering mRNA encoding a viral antigen—most commonly the RSV fusion (F) protein—into host cells, which then express the protein to stimulate a robust immune response, including the production of neutralizing antibodies and T-cell activation. It is currently being evaluated in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials for safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity in healthy adults and elderly populations.
