Overview

ABO2011 is a lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-encapsulated messenger RNA (mRNA) therapy encoding human single-chain interleukin-12 (scIL-12). It is designed to stimulate the immune system by delivering mRNA that expresses IL-12, a cytokine with potent immunomodulatory and antineoplastic activities. The drug aims to enhance anti-tumor immunity by increasing IL-12 and subsequent interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) production, leading to activation of downstream chemokines such as CXCL9, CXCL10, and CXCL11. This results in increased infiltration of CD8+ T cells and upregulation of PD-L1 expression within the tumor microenvironment. ABO2011 is being developed primarily for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, including non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic cancer. It has shown promising preliminary safety and antitumor activity in early-phase clinical trials as both monotherapy and in combination with immune checkpoint inhibitors[1][2][4].
