Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABO2015 (ABO-2015) is an investigational mRNA-based therapeutic developed by Suzhou Abogen Biosciences for the treatment of hematological malignancies, specifically relapsed and/or refractory acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Delivered via lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), the mRNA encodes the amino acid sequence of blinatumomab, a bispecific T-cell engager (TCE) targeting CD19 on B cells and CD3 on T cells. By utilizing mRNA to direct the in vivo production of the TCE, ABO2015 aims to achieve sustained, gradual release of the therapeutic protein in situ, thereby improving drug exposure and reducing the risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS) compared to continuous intravenous infusion of recombinant protein. In preclinical studies, ABO2015 demonstrated superior antitumor efficacy and lower IL-6 induction than recombinant protein counterparts. An investigator-initiated Phase I clinical trial has been conducted in patients with relapsed/refractory B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
