Overview

ABO2109 is a personalized mRNA-based cancer vaccine developed by Abogen Bioscience. Designed for the treatment of various solid tumors, the therapy utilizes a personalized neoantigen approach. The process involves identifying unique mutations (neoantigens) within a patient's specific tumor through genomic sequencing and then engineering an mRNA sequence that encodes these tumor-specific antigens. Once administered, the mRNA is delivered into cells (typically via lipid nanoparticles), where it is translated into proteins that mimic the tumor neoantigens. This triggers the patient's immune system to mount a targeted T-cell response against cells expressing those specific antigens, thereby specifically attacking the tumor while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.
