Overview

**abobotulinumtoxinA + hyaluronic acid** is a combination of a neurotoxin and a polymeric dermal filler, used primarily for aesthetic facial rejuvenation and improvement of skin texture. AbobotulinumtoxinA, a subtype of botulinum toxin type A, acts by blocking acetylcholine release at neuromuscular junctions, resulting in decreased muscle contraction and reduction of dynamic wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring polysaccharide, acts as a dermal filler, restoring facial volume, hydrating the skin, and smoothing static wrinkles. Used together, these agents offer synergistic effects: abobotulinumtoxinA relaxes facial muscles to reduce lines and wrinkles, while hyaluronic acid improves skin hydration, volume, and smoothness. This combination has demonstrated improved efficacy, prolonged duration of effect, and higher patient satisfaction compared to monotherapy, with applications including wrinkle reduction, pore size minimization, skin texture improvement, and overall facial rejuvenation.
