Absent in Melanoma 2 (AIM2) is an interferon-inducible protein that functions as a cytoplasmic sensor for double-stranded DNA (dsDNA), playing a crucial role in innate immunity by forming the AIM2 inflammasome, which triggers inflammatory responses and pyroptosis.
