Overview

ABT-700 + docetaxel is a combination therapy comprising a humanized monoclonal antibody (ABT-700) and the chemotherapy drug docetaxel. ABT-700 is an anti-c-Met antibody that blocks both hepatocyte growth factor (HGF)-dependent and -independent c-Met signaling, leading to the inhibition of tumor growth and induction of apoptosis, particularly in cancers with MET amplification. Docetaxel is a microtubule inhibitor that inhibits mitosis and induces apoptosis in proliferating cancer cells. In preclinical models, the combination has demonstrated additive anti-tumor effects, especially in gastric and lung cancers driven by MET amplification[1][2]. ABT-700 was developed by AbbVie and tested both as monotherapy and in combination with standard cytoreductive chemotherapies such as docetaxel[2].
