Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABT-SLV201 is a **trivalent influenza subunit vaccine** also known under the brand name Influvac. It is designed to provide prophylaxis against influenza by inducing an immune response to three selected influenza virus strains. This vaccine comprises highly purified surface antigens (hemagglutinin and neuraminidase) from the influenza virus, tailored each season to match circulating strains. Its mechanism of action involves stimulating the host immune system to produce antibodies against the hemagglutinin proteins of the included influenza strains, conferring protection against infection. ABT-SLV201 has been used in clinical studies for influenza prophylaxis and is developed and manufactured by Abbott/AbbVie.
