Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Abter is an antimalarial pharmaceutical formulation containing Alpha-Beta Arteether, a semi-synthetic derivative of artemisinin. It is specifically produced as a 150mg/2ml injectable solution intended for the treatment of malaria caused by Plasmodium parasites. The medication works by generating reactive free radicals within the parasite, leading to its destruction. Abter is manufactured and distributed by Zytras Life Sciences, an Indian PCD (Propaganda Cum Distribution) pharma franchise company. It is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria and is not recommended for malaria prophylaxis or for severe cases involving organ complications such as cerebral malaria. The drug must be administered by a healthcare professional via injection.
