Overview

ABV100 is an investigational proprietary fixed-dose combination of rapid-acting insulin and glucagon developed by Abvance Therapeutics from research originating at Vanderbilt University. The coformulation is intended for insulin-requiring diabetes, particularly type 1 diabetes mellitus, with the goal of preserving insulin-mediated glucose lowering while using glucagon's glucose-raising activity as a pharmacologic safety buffer against hypoglycemia. A randomized, double-blind early-phase clinical study in people with type 1 diabetes evaluated glycemic excursions following co-administration of insulin and glucagon.
