Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ABX-001 is a first-in-class immuno-virotherapy based on a proprietary variant of the lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV). Developed by Abalos Therapeutics, it is designed to selectively infect and replicate within tumor cells, leading to direct oncolysis. Beyond direct cell killing, ABX-001 aims to convert the tumor microenvironment from "cold" to "hot" by triggering a broad and systemic immune response, including the activation of tumor-specific T cells and the recruitment of innate immune effectors. This dual mechanism is intended to treat both primary tumors and distant metastases. ABX-001 is currently being evaluated in Phase 1/2 clinical trials for the treatment of advanced solid tumors, both as a monotherapy and in combination with the PD-1 inhibitor pembrolizumab.
