ABX-01

ABX-01 is a novel, broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptide developed by Centauri Therapeutics for the treatment of serious Gram-negative bacterial infections, including multidrug-resistant (MDR) and extensively drug-resistant (XDR) strains. The compound is based on Centauri’s proprietary Alphamer platform and employs a dual mechanism of action: it combines intrinsic antibacterial activity—disrupting bacterial membranes via its peptide component—with an immunotherapeutic effect that harnesses and redirects naturally occurring anti-glycan antibodies to mediate immune-driven bacterial clearance. This approach enables both direct bactericidal effects at higher concentrations and rapid immune-mediated clearance at lower concentrations.
