ABX-04 is an immunotherapy candidate being developed by Centauri Therapeutics for the treatment of chronic *Pseudomonas aeruginosa* lung infections. It is built using the company's proprietary Alphamer platform, which creates chemically synthesized molecules designed to redirect the host's pre-existing immune system to target specific pathogens. ABX-04 is a monoclonal antibody conjugate that consists of a targeting antibody specific to *Pseudomonas* linked to alpha-Gal epitopes. These epitopes are recognized by naturally occurring anti-Gal antibodies present in all humans. Upon binding to the bacteria, the conjugate recruits these anti-Gal antibodies to the pathogen's surface, triggering immune effector mechanisms such as opsonophagocytosis and complement-mediated lysis to clear the infection.
