Overview

AC-73 is a first-in-class, specific, orally active small-molecule inhibitor of cluster of differentiation 147 (CD147), also known as basigin or EMMPRIN. It functions by specifically disrupting CD147 dimerization, which is implicated in tumor metastasis and progression. Preclinical studies have shown that AC-73 can inhibit hepatocellular carcinoma metastasis by targeting CD147-mediated signaling pathways[1][2]. The compound represents a novel approach for anti-cancer therapy, particularly in the context of metastatic disease.
