Overview

AC-OLE-04 is an investigational liquid formulation of tricaprilin (glycerol trioctanoate), a medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) being developed by Cerecin for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease. It is designed to induce mild ketosis, providing ketone bodies (such as beta-hydroxybutyrate) as an alternative energy source for neurons in patients with Alzheimer's, who often exhibit impaired cerebral glucose metabolism (hypometabolism). AC-OLE-04 is part of a series of optimized formulations (AC-OLE-01 to AC-OLE-10) intended to improve upon the pharmacokinetic profile and gastrointestinal tolerability of earlier versions like AC-1202. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess safety, tolerability, and food effects.
