Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AC105 is an investigational drug developed for the treatment of acute brain and spinal cord injuries. It is a proprietary magnesium formulation designed to increase extracellular magnesium delivery and reduce excitotoxic glutamate exposure within injured spinal cords, as demonstrated in animal models. The drug received FDA fast track designation in 2009 for use in improving functional recovery after acute spinal cord injury (SCI). AC105 was licensed by Acorda Therapeutics from Medtronic and advanced to Phase II clinical readiness, but there is no evidence of further development or approval since then.
