Overview

AC2592 is a synthetic peptide that acts as a glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor (GLP-1R) agonist. It was administered via continuous subcutaneous infusion using a pump, with dosing based on patient body weight. The drug was initially developed by Amylin Pharmaceuticals and later investigated by AstraZeneca for the treatment of chronic congestive heart failure, particularly for patients with New York Heart Association (NYHA) class III or IV heart failure who were not suitable for transplantation.
