AC3056

AC3056 is a non-peptide small molecule antioxidant that was originally developed by Aventis (later Sanofi). It acts as an inhibitor of vascular cell adhesion molecule expression and has been investigated for its potential to treat atherosclerosis and other conditions related to the obstruction of blood vessels. Preclinical and early clinical studies indicated dose-dependent antioxidant activity following oral administration, with good tolerability in healthy subjects. In animal models of diabetes-induced erectile dysfunction, AC3056 demonstrated reversal of endothelial dysfunction and improvement in nitric oxide-mediated responses. The compound also showed effects on lipid peroxidation markers and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB) expression in preclinical studies[1][2][3][4].
