Acanthine B, also known as syringin or eleutheroside B, is a phenylpropanoid glycoside naturally occurring in plants such as *Eleutherococcus senticosus* (Siberian ginseng). It is being developed by Beijing Jinbencao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Development as an oral therapeutic for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection. Formulated as dropping pills (code name AKJ-1), the compound has demonstrated potential antiviral activity and hepatoprotective properties in preclinical models. Clinical development in China has progressed to Phase 1, with studies evaluating the safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of single-dose administration in healthy volunteers.
