Acarovac MPL is a next-generation subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) product designed for the treatment of house dust mite (HDM)-induced allergic rhinoconjunctivitis and perennial allergic rhinitis. It contains allergoids derived from Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus and Dermatophagoides farinae (house dust mites), which are chemically modified allergens to reduce allergenicity while maintaining immunogenicity. These allergoids are adsorbed onto an adjuvant system composed of microcrystalline tyrosine (MCT), a biodegradable depot, and monophosphoryl lipid A (MPL), an immune response modulator. The combination aims to enhance safety, efficacy, and patient compliance by enabling ultra-short course therapy with fewer injections compared to traditional regimens. The mechanism involves immunomodulation—shifting the immune response away from allergy-promoting pathways by increasing specific immunoglobulins and reducing interleukin-4 levels[1][2][3][4][5][6][8].
