Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Acatar is a brand of over-the-counter (OTC) medications developed by USP Zdrowie, primarily marketed in Poland for the relief of symptoms associated with the common cold, flu, and allergic rhinitis. The brand encompasses several distinct formulations: **Acatar Control** and **Acatar Care** are nasal sprays containing the alpha-adrenergic agonist oxymetazoline hydrochloride, which provides rapid relief of nasal congestion through local vasoconstriction. **Acatar Acti-Tabs** is an oral combination of the systemic decongestant pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and the first-generation antihistamine triprolidine hydrochloride. **Acatar Zatoki** combines pseudoephedrine with the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ibuprofen to address both congestion and sinus pain. These products are widely used for their ability to reduce nasal mucosal swelling and alleviate rhinorrhea.
