Overview

ACC017 is a novel small molecule antiretroviral drug under development as an HIV-1 integrase strand transfer inhibitor (INSTI). It is being investigated for the treatment of HIV infection, including in patients with resistance to non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs) and in treatment-naïve adults. The drug is designed to block the integration of viral DNA into the host genome, a critical step in the HIV replication cycle. Clinical trials are ongoing to evaluate its safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and antiviral efficacy both as monotherapy and in combination with nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors such as emtricitabine/tenofovir alafenamide fumarate (FTC/TAF). The developer is Jiangsu Aidea Pharmaceutical.
