Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACC077 is an investigational, oral long-acting small molecule HIV-1 capsid inhibitor being developed by Jiangsu Aidea Pharma for HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP). It targets the HIV-1 capsid protein (CA) and acts by interfering with multiple stages of the viral life cycle, including capsid-mediated nuclear uptake of the pre-integration complex, viral particle production, and proper capsid core assembly, thereby rendering the virus replication-incompetent. ACC077 is designed as a once-monthly oral tablet to improve medication adherence and provide a convenient home-based prevention option for high-risk populations. It is currently in preclinical development.
