Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Accelerex is a sterile, impregnated wound dressing developed and manufactured by Regenerex Pharma, Inc. It is composed of a cellulose acetate substrate coated with an ointment containing polyethylene glycols (PEG) and a specific combination of metal ions. Designed for the management of chronic, non-healing, and slow-healing wounds, Accelerex has demonstrated clinical efficacy in closing wounds that failed to respond to other standard wound care therapies. Although it contains active chemical components, it is regulated as a medical device rather than a traditional pharmaceutical drug.
