Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Accelerex with Copper is a topical wound dressing developed by Regenerex Pharma for the treatment of chronic and acute wounds. It consists of a sterile cellulose acetate dressing coated with an ointment containing polyethylene glycols and metal ions, including copper. The product utilizes QBx™ technology, derived from oak bark extract, which works by down-regulating proteases and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), specifically MMP-2 and MMP-9, to normalize the wound microenvironment and promote healing. It is indicated for various wound types, including diabetic foot ulcers, venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers (stages I-IV), burns, cuts, and abrasions. Accelerex is CE approved and has previously received FDA approval as a medical device.
