Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Accelerex with Honey is a topical wound care product developed by Regenerex Pharma, Inc. It is a variant of the company's Accelerex line that incorporates honey into its formulation. The product utilizes QBx™ technology as its active ingredient, which is derived from oak bark extract and works by down-regulating proteases and matrix metalloproteases (MMPs) to normalize the wound microenvironment. Accelerex with Honey is classified as a medical device wound dressing or cream and is administered topically for the treatment of chronic wounds, including diabetic foot ulcers, pressure ulcers (stages I-IV), and venous stasis ulcers, as well as acute wounds, skin irritations, cuts, and abrasions. The base Accelerex technology has demonstrated the ability to close over 92% of chronic wounds in clinical studies, with most wounds healing in less than 10 weeks.
