Accell 100

Accell 100 is a demineralized bone matrix (DBM) putty used as a bone graft substitute in orthopedic, spinal, and reconstructive surgeries. Developed by Integra LifeSciences, it is composed of 100% human-derived DBM without the addition of extrinsic carriers like glycerol or sodium hyaluronate. The product utilizes the proprietary Accell Bone Matrix (ABM) process, which provides a high concentration of naturally occurring Bone Morphogenetic Proteins (BMPs) and other growth factors. Its mechanism of action involves both osteoconduction, where the matrix serves as a scaffold for new bone growth, and osteoinduction, where the BMPs recruit and stimulate mesenchymal stem cells to differentiate into bone-forming osteoblasts. It is primarily indicated for filling bone voids or gaps that are not intrinsic to the stability of the bony structure.
