Acclydine

**Acclydine** is an oral dietary supplement product containing a plant-derived alkaloid associated with *Solanum dulcamara*. It was manufactured by Optipharma and investigated at Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre as a potential treatment for chronic fatigue syndrome. Its proposed biological rationale was stimulation of pituitary growth-hormone release and consequent enhancement of biologically active insulin-like growth factor 1, assessed through the IGFBP3/IGF1 ratio. In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled 14-week trial in 57 adults with chronic fatigue syndrome, Acclydine did not significantly improve fatigue, functional impairment, or IGFBP3/IGF1 ratio versus placebo.
