ACCS100 is a naturally occurring clay-based compound investigated for its ability to reduce aflatoxin exposure and toxicity in humans. Its primary mechanism of action is believed to be the adsorption of aflatoxins in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby reducing their bioavailability and subsequent toxic effects. The drug has been evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for prevention of aflatoxicosis, particularly in regions with high dietary exposure to aflatoxins such as Kenya. It has also been studied for acute pain, liver failure (acute), abdominal pain, and carcinogenesis.
