Drug intelligence / Profile preview
AccuHist is a brand of over-the-counter combination medications designed to alleviate symptoms associated with the common cold, influenza, and allergic rhinitis. The product line includes several formulations tailored for different patient needs. Common active ingredients include antihistamines like chlorpheniramine or brompheniramine, which block H1 receptors to reduce sneezing and watery eyes; decongestants such as phenylephrine or pseudoephedrine, which act as alpha-adrenergic agonists to reduce nasal congestion; and anticholinergics like atropine, hyoscyamine, and scopolamine to dry respiratory secretions. Some pediatric versions also include dextromethorphan for cough suppression. These products are typically administered orally as drops or extended-release formulations.
