Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Accum mRNA vaccine is an experimental mRNA-based vaccine platform being developed by Defence Therapeutics. It incorporates the company's proprietary Accum technology, which is designed to enhance the intracellular accumulation and endosomal escape of mRNA molecules. By preventing the degradation of mRNA within endosomes and facilitating its release into the cytosol, the platform aims to improve the efficiency of antigen translation and the overall potency of the immune response. Formulated in lipid nanoparticles (LNPs), the vaccine is primarily being investigated for the treatment of solid tumors, including lymphoma, and has demonstrated superior antibody responses in preclinical studies compared to standard mRNA vaccine formulations.
