Overview
**AccuVAC-D001** is an autologous dendritic cell based therapeutic cancer vaccine being developed by Defence Therapeutics for solid tumors, with disclosed development focus on melanoma and breast cancer. The product uses the company's Accum based AccuVAC platform to enhance intracellular antigen processing in dendritic cells by promoting escape of endocytosed antigen from endosomal degradation into the cytosol, thereby improving antigen cross-presentation and inducing stronger CD4 and CD8 T-cell mediated anti-tumor immunity. Publicly disclosed data describe preclinical activity including durable anti-tumor responses and a reported 70% cure rate in mice with pre-established solid tumors, and Defence announced manufacturing preparations with the Lady Davis Institute cell processing center to support planned early phase clinical development.
