Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACD004 is a polymeric enteral nutritional formula developed by Nestle. It is designed for the treatment of Crohn's disease, particularly in pediatric patients. The formula is lactose-free, uses casein as its protein source, and is notably rich in Transforming Growth Factor Beta (TGF-beta). Clinical studies have shown that ACD004 can induce clinical remission and improve the quality of life in children with active Crohn's disease by influencing the disease process and reducing inflammation, although improvement in quality of life may not always parallel mucosal healing.
