ACE-106 is an orally bioavailable small molecule drug candidate developed by Acedia (formerly known as Acelot, Inc.) for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease. Discovered through a proprietary AI-driven computational platform, ACE-106 is designed as a protein-protein interaction (PPI) inhibitor that specifically targets and neutralizes toxic soluble oligomers of alpha-synuclein and amyloid-beta (Aβ). These oligomeric species are widely considered the primary drivers of neurotoxicity and synaptic dysfunction in the amyloid cascade and synucleinopathy models. By binding to these early-stage aggregates, ACE-106 prevents their transition into larger, insoluble fibrils and reduces their toxic impact on neuronal health. The compound is currently in the preclinical stage of development, with a primary focus on Parkinson's disease.
