Drug intelligence / Profile preview
ACE-EXTRA is an oral fixed-dose combination medication developed and manufactured by Yogi Care Pharmaceutical Pvt Ltd. It contains 100 mg of aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and 500 mg of paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins, while paracetamol provides additional pain relief and fever reduction through central mechanisms. Despite the 'ACE' prefix in its name, the drug is not an angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor and is not used to treat hypertension or cardiovascular disease; the name is derived from aceclofenac. It is primarily indicated for the management of acute pain, fever, and inflammatory conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
