Overview

ACE1975 is a therapeutic candidate developed by Acceleron Pharma (now a subsidiary of Merck & Co.) that functions as a TGF-beta superfamily ligand trap. It is designed to selectively bind and neutralize specific ligands within the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-beta) signaling pathway, which are known to play critical roles in regulating cellular processes such as growth, differentiation, and tissue homeostasis. By modulating these pathways, ACE1975 aims to treat diseases characterized by aberrant TGF-beta signaling, including certain fibrotic disorders or hematologic conditions. The molecule is typically engineered as a fusion protein consisting of the extracellular domain of a TGF-beta family receptor joined to the Fc portion of a human immunoglobulin G1 (IgG1), a platform technology characteristic of Acceleron's pipeline.
