Aceclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and an analog of diclofenac. It is primarily used to relieve pain and inflammation associated with chronic musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase (COX), which is responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins—mediators involved in pain, swelling, inflammation, and fever. Compared to other NSAIDs like naproxen or indomethacin, aceclofenac has a lower incidence of gastrointestinal side effects[1][3][5][7][10].
