Overview
Acenac-N is a fixed-dose sustained-release combination of aceclofenac (200 mg) and pregabalin (75 mg) developed by Medley Pharmaceuticals. It is approved for the management of mixed pain syndrome, including neuropathic pain, low back pain, sciatica, cervical/lumbar radiculopathy, and post-orthopaedic-surgery pain. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing prostaglandin synthesis to alleviate pain and inflammation. Pregabalin is an anticonvulsant and gabapentinoid that binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the central nervous system, modulating calcium influx and reducing the release of excitatory neurotransmitters to control neuropathic pain.
