Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aceboat Rz is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac and the proton pump inhibitor (PPI) rabeprazole sodium. Developed by Zeebharat Med Private Limited, this combination is primarily indicated for the management of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. The inclusion of rabeprazole sodium serves as a gastroprotective agent; it suppresses gastric acid secretion by irreversibly inhibiting the H+/K+-ATPase enzyme system (the proton pump) in gastric parietal cells. This dual-action approach allows for effective pain management while significantly reducing the risk of NSAID-induced gastric and duodenal ulcers.
