Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Aceclofenac + tramadol + acetaminophen is a fixed-dose combination medication used for the management of moderate to severe pain, particularly when pain is not adequately controlled by non-opioid analgesics alone. This oral formulation combines three active ingredients with complementary mechanisms: - **Aceclofenac** is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins involved in inflammation and pain. - **Tramadol** is an opioid analgesic that acts centrally as a weak agonist at the mu-opioid receptor and also inhibits reuptake of norepinephrine and serotonin, contributing to its analgesic effects. - **Acetaminophen (paracetamol)** is an analgesic and antipyretic agent believed to act primarily through inhibition of central prostaglandin synthesis. The combination provides multimodal pain relief suitable for acute or chronic conditions such as musculoskeletal disorders or post-operative pain. It may be prescribed when monotherapy with NSAIDs or other non-opioids does not provide sufficient relief[3][4].
