Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Acegenix-P is a fixed-dose combination pharmaceutical product developed and marketed by Nilegenix, a generic pharmaceutical company based in India. It is composed of two active ingredients: aceclofenac, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and paracetamol (acetaminophen), an analgesic and antipyretic. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. Paracetamol provides additional pain relief and fever reduction, likely through central nervous system mechanisms. The drug is primarily indicated for the symptomatic relief of pain, inflammation, and fever associated with conditions such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and general musculoskeletal pain.
