The Acellular MSC system is an experimental regenerative biological therapy developed by the Universidad de los Andes, Chile, for the treatment of apical periodontitis and the promotion of dental pulp regeneration. The system consists of an encapsulated acellular product derived from Mesenchymal Stem Cells (MSCs), likely containing the MSC secretome, which includes a complex mixture of exosomes, cytokines, and growth factors. Unlike traditional cell therapies, this acellular approach utilizes the paracrine signaling molecules produced by stem cells to stimulate tissue repair, angiogenesis, and neurogenesis within the root canal system without the risks associated with transplanting live cells. It is designed to be administered as part of a regenerative endodontic procedure to restore the vitality of the pulp-dentin complex in teeth with necrotic pulp or periapical lesions.
