Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Acent Gel** is a marketed topical fixed-dose analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel from Intra Labs India for local relief of pain and inflammation associated with musculoskeletal disorders, including arthritis, sprains, strains, and low back pain. Its labeled composition is aceclofenac 1.5% w/w, methyl salicylate 10% w/w, oleum lini 3% w/w, capsaicin 0.01% w/w, menthol 5% w/w, and benzyl alcohol 1% w/w. Aceclofenac and methyl salicylate provide local cyclooxygenase inhibition and reduced prostaglandin-mediated inflammation; capsaicin activates and subsequently desensitizes TRPV1-expressing nociceptors; and menthol activates the cold-sensing TRPM8 channel, producing a cooling counterirritant and analgesic effect.
