Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Acent-SD is a combination oral tablet containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) aceclofenac (100 mg) and the proteolytic enzyme serratiopeptidase (15 mg). Developed by Intra Labs, it is indicated for the relief of pain, inflammation, and swelling associated with various musculoskeletal and joint conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, muscle strains, sprains, and post-surgical or dental pain. Aceclofenac works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, thereby reducing the synthesis of inflammatory prostaglandins. Serratiopeptidase, an enzyme derived from *Serratia marcescens*, breaks down abnormal proteins at the site of inflammation, helping to reduce swelling and promote tissue repair.
