BSAT-1301 is a fixed-dose combination small molecule drug developed by Bora Pharmaceutical Holdings for the treatment of pain. It consists of acetaminophen (paracetamol) and ibuprofen, two widely used analgesics that target different pathways to provide synergistic relief. Acetaminophen acts primarily as a central analgesic and antipyretic, likely through the inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes in the central nervous system, while ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits both COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes to reduce prostaglandin synthesis peripherally and centrally. BSAT-1301 was approved in Taiwan as the first fixed-dose combination of these two active ingredients, intended for the management of mild to moderate pain.
