Panatec is a fixed-dose combination analgesic medication containing acetaminophen (paracetamol), ibuprofen, and caffeine, developed and manufactured by Fatak Chemie Pars Pharmaceuticals (FCP Pharma) in Iran. It is formulated as oral capsules containing 325 mg of acetaminophen, 200 mg of ibuprofen, and 40 mg of caffeine. Panatec is indicated for the temporary relief of mild to moderate pain, including headaches (such as tension headaches and migraines), toothaches, neuralgic-muscular pain, joint pain, and dysmenorrhea. Acetaminophen acts primarily in the central nervous system to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis, thereby reducing pain and fever. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that non-selectively inhibits cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzymes, reducing peripheral prostaglandin synthesis and inflammation. Caffeine acts as a central nervous system stimulant and adenosine receptor antagonist, which enhances the analgesic efficacy of both acetaminophen and ibuprofen.
