A combination pharmaceutical product containing **acetylcysteine**, **paracetamol** (also known as acetaminophen), and **phenylephrine**. - **Acetylcysteine** acts as a mucolytic agent by breaking down disulfide bonds in mucus, reducing its viscosity and facilitating expectoration. It also functions as an antioxidant and is used as an antidote for paracetamol overdose by replenishing glutathione stores. - **Paracetamol** is an analgesic and antipyretic, primarily lowering fever and relieving mild to moderate pain by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system and acting on the hypothalamic heat-regulating center. - **Phenylephrine** is a sympathomimetic decongestant that selectively activates alpha-1 adrenergic receptors, leading to vasoconstriction of nasal blood vessels and relief of nasal congestion. This combination is produced for symptomatic treatment of the **common cold** and associated upper respiratory symptoms such as fever, headache, body aches, mucus overproduction, cough, and nasal congestion[1].
