Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**Cardioral** is an Italian oral, low-dose **acetylsalicylic acid** product containing 75 mg aspirin in soft capsules. It is an antiplatelet medicine used for secondary cardiovascular prevention, including prevention of recurrent myocardial infarction and cardiovascular events in people with stable angina. Aspirin irreversibly acetylates platelet cyclooxygenase-1, suppressing thromboxane A2 generation and thereby reducing platelet aggregation for the lifespan of the platelet. Cardioral itself is a single-ingredient aspirin product, not a fixed-dose aspirin plus omega-3 triglyceride combination; it was listed as the 75 mg aspirin component in an EU Phase 2 study that investigated aspirin administered with omega-3 fatty acids.
